I Love Scrappy!

Just a quick little post on a charm square exchange quilt for charity because I'm in the middle of sewing heaven and I want to get right back to it! Usually I plan and fuss, and plan and fuss til my brain explodes. This quilt I decided to throw caution to the wind and just grab a light and a dark and go for it.
I love the scrappiness!

FNSI Results

a bit of FMQ for the flower center
I managed to squeeze a bit of sewing in. It may look like I accomplished quite a bit but this little quilt was pretty much done, so just cleaned up some of the loose threads and added a hanging sleeve. It seems most of my night was on the computer getting design ideas to try the technique again. It never ceases to amaze me how fast time goes when I get in front of the darn computer!

This quilt was a class with Cathy Miller, the Singing Quilter.

It was an amazing class in Mock Mola Applique, which is a raw edge reverse applique. Cathy brought tons of her inspirational quilts. We received very clear instructions and she made sure that she spent one on one time with each and every one of us, helping us with our individual designs. The next day she was the guest speaker/singer at the guild and had asked us to bring what we had done for show and tell. I would say that most people had finished their wall hangings, only their binding was missing! She put on a fabulous show for us, with stories and songs about quilting. If you ever have the chance, take her class or go to her show, you won't be sorry!
