BORDERS?

Bali top is finished-maybe. Should I add borders? I'm tempted to just bind it with black. I don't know if it really needs borders.
Which Way is UP? Blues on top?

Or Reds on top?
I am cutting out more rectangles today. I need to make this quilt again - for me! I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced and WIP Wednesday at the Needle and Thread Network. Check out what everyone else is working on!

Happy Stitching

I'd say that if you are happy with the size, then just bind it in black. Borders are good for increasing the size of a quilt and also to "hold it all together" but if you don't need the increase in size, don't bother. I like the colours you used.

Absolutely beautiful - blue on top, blue on bottom - just gorgeous. NO border! Black binding is perfect. Well done!!!

Very pretty! I think it will be fine 'borderless' -- unless you want to enlarge it. And...I rather like the blues on the top. The pinwheels up there look like birds in the sky...

Beautiful quilt. The blue top reminded me of the sky as well and borderless would be fine.

This quilt is absolutely gorgeous! I love it! I say red on top and my logic with that opinion is that heat rises. :) I agree, it is just perfect the way it is and does not need borders. But it's 100% your call of course.

Very bold!! I'd go with the black binding... it'll pull it all in and make it all pop! Gorgeous quilt! :)

Hi Corina, Your quilt is gorgeous just the way it is, bind it in black and call done! As always, beautiful work. Oh I've using that little soap brush you gave me after working in the garden. It is awesome.

Great quilt, do you mind pinning? I like blue on the top, it´s more naturally for me.

border you ask? I'd try to blend it in with the quilt, it's beautiful, don't take away from it.

binding? I'd pick something that blends in with the back ground fabric. It's just simply beautiful.

I agree to no borders...your batiks stand out on their own. I really like it. Great idea for batiks!

Oh my gosh! How gorgeous is this??? Did you decide to go without the borders? It's amazing just like this, so that would be a terrific choice.

If you do a border, it should be small, so saying that, I would probably just bind it, like you thought, with black...... Yup, as I look at it again, That would finish it off nicely. Beautiful quilt top!!!

Wow, I just made a very similar quilt... but yours is much more striking. Follow your instincts, no border and bind in black.

Reds on top - but it's beautiful both ways, so let if lay how it may...... and no border works, just bind it and call it done!
